Happy Black History month to all of our readers and supporters! This month we are highlighting up and coming producer and artist Ghana 1K. If you haven't heard about this  super producer you definitely will soon! Ghana possesses a unique and audibly captivating sound that is sure to have you bobbing your head as soon as it comes on. Oddly enough, we first met Ghana at a music video shoot for a song he personally produced entitled "Too Much Money" by Onekay Guano. After speaking with him, we came to find that he not only works with a lot of artists, he also has an extremely diverse production catalog. Most recently, he produced "Ups and downs" for well known Hip-Hop recording artist Kevin Gates. Ghana is constantly working and improving his craft and with his genuine and positive disposition he's bound to go the top. He's an extremely busy man but we were able to grab a quick interview with him after our most recent photoshoot.

Check out the interview below to get more insight on producer and artist Ghana 1K.

Introduce Yourself

Yo what's going on, it's Ghana 1K man. I'm from Lumpkin, Georgia man and I've been making beats since I was about like 9 years old, third grade to be exact. Shout out my cousin K man! He taught me how to do that and I just ran with it.

Name two producers that influenced you musically

Manny Fresh. Like you know what I'm saying, I was a youngin just coming up hearing Mannie Fresh. So yea man imma say Mannie Fresh, Metro, Southside, like yeah those the people that inspire me for real. You know what I'm saying? I just seen them turn something from nothing and I'm doing the same thing. So yeah, you know them the people that inspire me to just keep going.

What's the hardest obstacle you've faced in the music industry?

The tough part about that is.. it's a million other people doing it. So,you know, I'm saying you really just gotta be you. There's a lot of different sounds out here man, there's a lot of different sounds. Just being you as a person and still having a type of sound that somebody wants is different. Way different than just meeting a producer that has a sound and you just know he's not the type of person that you would just want to hang with or just a pure person. I think one of the hardest things is just get getting beats out to people, but you just got to keep shooting your shot man. Just beat them people DMS up, just beat them up beat them up! Comment on their pictures, stay on their stories, check for when they're in the studio posting. You'll see them drop their email, send them beats and you just might be the one they pick that night. They're in the studio, you might make the album, that's how it happened for me.

What gave you your start in music?

What made me get into music was that it was just something different man. I just really like the sound, it really amazes me and it touched my soul for real. Once I learned how to create sound, my own sound, and just the feeling that
music gives you is dope. Bro music is powerful, it does a lot of things for a lot of people. It heals souls you know what I'm saying, there's pros and cons to music as well. However, when you're making the right music, it heals.

Why did you decide to work with RZ Vizions?

RZ fye bro, he fye! Imma be truthful bro, I saw one of my artist book with RZ and I just saw how reliable he was. He was at the location, on time, not late, and you didn't have to beat his phone up. When I booked RZ this time, this man was 15 minutes early. Usually I'm waiting on the cameraman or something like that. He has good quality work with affordable prices man and he's reliable, that's the biggest thing. In the game, finding a reliable person is hard because you know people will do it for the money but you know it's a lot of time people putting in too so I really rock with RZ man. He's a cool guy man you know what I'm saying, we locked in for sure! I promise you that!

Ghana 1K is definitely on his way to making huge waves in the music industry with his unique sound and production style. Be sure to find and connect with him on social media!
